Political Soap Box

I want to get this out of my system, so for those of you who don't want to hear about politics, feel free to skip this post. This is the first time I have ever paid attention to politics and I think this is the most important election in the history of the United States. There are people even in my pool of friends who are for Obama. In the past, the difference between Democrats and Republicans has been harmless. In this election, the difference is crucial. Honestly, I don't know why so many people think Obama will be a good president. He has seemingly been for and against every issue raised so far. In the face of such trying times, it seems to me that we need someone who is going to stand firm on an issue. If our president doesn't have a firm stance, I don't believe our country will be in good hands.

There are many, many issues to look at in this election. Please look at all the facts before you decide who to vote for. And don't just listen to the liberal media to tell you who to vote for. Fox News has been the only news station so far that strives to be objective and tell both sides.

Obama is leaning towards socialism with the socialized health care and redistribution of wealth proposals. Since when do we believe that getting something for nothing is admirable and should be mandated? Those who think that socialism is so great--you are mostly from such organized countries--no offense intended, but if you want socialism, please return to your own socialized country and leave our country alone. Our capitalism is the reason people flock here by the million and wish to stay. They call it the land of opportunity because of capitalism. If we are turned socialist, people won't flock here anymore. And the technology growth we are in right now will cease. It is the motivation to get more money that causes improvements in technology and industry and medicine, etc. In socialized systems, there is no motivation to have a better business than the competition because there is no competition.

Anyway, I have a lot more to say on this subject, but I don't want to bore you guys. Just know that Obama will pull our military out of Iraq before we have completed our goals. He will raise taxes. In case some of you are not aware about the tax issue, he proposes to raise taxes on the top 5% richest Americans. While you may not think this affects you, that 5% creates jobs for the rest of us. With their taxes being raised, there will be less jobs that they create. For the corporations and businesses that have a tax increase, that will either decrease their jobs or increase the price that we, the consumers, pay.
